Another button and a small bell?

Good afternoon, found these during a short hunt last night. Can anyone tell be anything about them? Is this a bell and if so how old is it?

Cool finds, I believe the button is a police uniform button, I would guess late 1800s or early 1900s (could be wrong). Also I would agree that looks like a small crotal bell!
