I think brother john37115 and I have found a virgin. We'd hit this site for maybe 30 minutes about a month ago. Then the land owner wanted to show us another old home site on the property. Well, today John, my son Will (Little KirkTN) and I got to hit it for about 4 hours maybe. I'm very proud of Will, He plucked a very nice flat button. If you can help us date this one we'd sure appreciate it. It's got a basket weave front and the back mark is "BEST" supported by a wreath. Yea Will
A little while latter I got a strong signal just bellow a quarter and I pulled out what I was almost certain was the main part of a CW carbine sling buckle. I hollered at my brother and he came over and gave a look and said "it might be" He and I both thought it looked a bit smaller than the one I found a few months ago. When He wasn't certain I stood up on my knees an ran the coil over my dirt again and Yeaaaa the cross bar and tongue's were laying right there covered up. We both knew instantly it was a sling buckle. Found a few more work buttons, a copper thimble, part of a horse bit, and a Bunch Of Iron!! John did find several Great buttons including one CW eagle button, way to go Bro. I can't wait to hit our new secret site again.
