another group of finds from august with photo's

first photo is another cutlass handle, long ships spikes,my first buffalo nickle, a modern quarter, 1lb of sinkers,3 fishing lures, a weird nail that I am unsure of the head is made very strangely, so I will have to look into it.

the second photo has another cutlass handle,ship spike,railroad spike,2.5 lbs of sinkers,iron and brass junk.

next is an outboard motor skeg,part of a propeller,a very long ships spike,1 lb of sinkers,a collet,and an iron pad divided in 4 sections, I,ve seen these used between axles and leaf springs, but I think someone was using it as an anchor for a small boat.

They sure broke a lot of cutlass handles in Ohio, I wonder if they were using them right?
All you need now is to find something shiny like gold, you're certainly due!

antiquarian, the cutlass handles are iron, the blades were steel and rusted out a long time ago. I do have one that was found with the blade still attached and one blade that survived in the scabbard. gold is very nice as is silver and platinum, but anything really old is high on my list. I just love antiques .
