Another honeyhole ring

More clad, some wheaties and my 4th ring in a row though have questions with this one. The ring is obviously silver with gold edging in color. The inscription inside says 12K on STL. Anyone know what that means?

probably gold on stainless steel - they been doin stuff like this lately

That Is what I am thinking too except for the ring is not modern, it is probably from the 50's or so. Maybe the STL was short for sterling as it has that look, feel and weight.

Thanks everyone. Man does this site keep giving it up. Going to hate having to go back to the garbage dumps once school starts. Have my eyes on a couple private properties with old small farm areas. Gonna knock on some doors this weekend.
