I finally got back out to my 1700's permission. I have covered the maintained/undisturbed areas pretty well and was working the perimeter woods. The levels of trash are unbelievable, with foil being the most common. Its everywhere! Small pieces to large clumps. Surface and a few inches down. I am constantly saying to myself after yet another time wasting hole "foiled again".
I cleared a large piece and rescanned. Bingo. With all of the trash possibly masking things, the time to cover an area can be frustrating but finds like this keep me pushing on.
They may be bringing in a forestry mower to clear the dense, invasive bush honeysuckle in the woods. Unfortunately, that machine is likely to mince and scatter foil everywhere. This would essentially be equal to the chaff dropped by an airplane to counter radar. I just picked up a Sunray X5 for my trusty Minelab Safari. Hopefully, that will help to sort things out.
