I didn't plan it but I ended up getting about 3 hours of detecting in today ;D I split between two sites. The first was the YMCA site where I found the 1802 LC - I found a few other relics that look to be from about that era so I think I have hit the edge of a site instead of the coin just being a random drop.

Then I went to the site on my neighbor's property where I found a 1795 LC last year. The cows had been in the field all fall so it now has a LOT of mud and other things ::) to deal with. But there are also more opportunities b/c they really tore the place up. I found this large cent and really nothing else but I am thrilled to get more keepers out of the site :hello2: Any help with the date of the coin?

Thanks!

I wish Large Cents were that common in the mid west, it is very rare that anyone finds these coins in the Kansas City area. congratulations on some great finds.

Looks like your on some kind of little spot.  Can't help with the date only that (Dates Minted: 1816-1839 )
Take Care,
Pete, :hello:

Nice handful of old finds. Arty

It looks to me like 1886, but I can't be 100% sure. It could be 1888 as well.

I inverted the colors and adjusted the tones a little to get the date to show a little more.

Thanks for the effort Sean ;D Maybe you are seeing a 3 not an 8 and it is 1836? See Timekiller's post above-

Dates Minted: 1816-1839

I thought a few times the last number was a 4 but I think it might be a lost cause.

I'll just have to find another! :laughing7:

Thanks everybody!

Awesome finds Congratulations
