Another 'Nother item to look out for....Worth $250
In trying to find out what kind of "torch head" I had that fit the Bernzomatic Propane and MAPP gas fuel bottles, I found out two things:
1. The torch head stamped "TX....3A" isn't for heating. It's a head that uses the propane gas and flame to check Freon to see if it has chlorine in it. At the bottom of the burning torch flame is a copper plate that's heated and a nipple on one side for a rubber hose. You take the hose and the flame draws the Freon in. If the normal blue flame turns bright Green, the Freon is contaminated and should not be used.
2. While researching online, I also ran across a recall of a propane powered heater that they made. It put out Carbon Monoxide and killed several customers. So when I'd called the help line for Bernzomatic about the above head, they said the recall is still in effect and returning their old heaters would still be worth $250.00.... Here's the recall Info...
