Had to get up very early today to attend a mandatory training class for my job - but was done by noon and as I was on my way home I spotted a park I hadn't noticed before. Decided to try it out. First thing I found was a Schrade "Uncle Henry" folding knife under a picnic table and then lots of coins. (None older than 1960 though.) Various odds and ends - but I did find a silver ring with a (cracked ) turquoise stone in it. The strange thing is that I had found one the previous week in another city, made by the same company! (Bell Trading Post) Weird! Thought it was a cool coincidence. Packed up all the coins and added them to the detecting jar. Someday I'll have enough saved to purchase a better detector. :)

Nice finds, thats alot of good digging

Yeah, it's a bit odd that you found a pair of almost identical rings. Bell Trading used to manufacture Indian-style souvenirs and sell them to holiday-makers from early 1930's till late 1970's (?) You can give one of the rings to someone you care about.

artzstuff1 - Thanks! I love finding a ring, makes my day! :)

plehbah - No intention of sticking THAT in there. LOL!

Gonehunting - Thanks! I don't think I could stop if I tried, I'm addicted! ;D

tuatara - That's a great idea - I'll see if my daughter wants one.

travelingjack1 - Thanks for the kind comments - I hope to find some older items someday soon.

One of the things that inspires me to keep digging is the wonderful camaraderie on this board. (There's also the mind-bogglingly cool finds to see also!) Thanks to all those who have offered advice and encouragement. You are awesome! :notworthy:

nice rings!!!!! MR TUFF
