Found at a camp, what do y'all think? At the very least it's a cool red color!

Looks like Bopper for Knapping. Seems to be coated with appears to be Red Orcher.

Could be the pictures though. That my 2 cents worth...

I have learned that I am seriously lacking in the vocabulary of stone tools.... have seen things like flaker, billet, percussion tool, bopper like relicgrubber mentioned, etc.

It definitely seems like something more for chipping than for grinding, but all I really know is that is feels like some sort of tool, whatever that might be! So thankful for your guys' help!

The bone looks like modern day dibble, maybe for planting corn. Is it a late prehistoric site?

Remember that just because it fits in the hand does not mean it is a tool. Most ancient tools of any size were usually finely crafted and you have zero doubt when seeing them. Sometimes a larger tool may be made and discarded but it will show the work of man on it. I have walked hundreds of miles and found some very interesting things that fit my hand but they were not artifacts.
Keep looking never surrender! Lol

I agree with TNMTS, what I see are natural rocks. Don't get caught up in how a rock fits your hand, that is less a sign of an artifact, and more a sign of the marvel of the human hand.
