Another silver coin from the Chinese camp

Today I found another 1871 S silver coin. It's not in the best condition, but silver is silver.

Does anyone have any idea what this is?

Per your mystery piece. How many inches long is it? What is it made out of? Is the “flared” end sharpened at all? Is the other end forged down to a fine point? What was the industry there during that era?

Well found on the silver.
I would guess you tool is a opium pipe scraper perhaps. For cleaning out the sticky residue.
It's not a fancy one, but it would work in the gold fields.

11.22"×0.20"× 0.59" for the ones in the picture.
Remember the one that was found is a blacksmith version, nothing fancy.

It's probably a pipe cleaner; a few months ago, I found an opium pipe in that same spot.
