Had another day off today cause of the snow and decided to head out to the same spot as the other day. Low and behold I found another 1916 Merc just a couple feet away from the last finds. 2 - 1916 mercs within a week and as my luck would have it. Neither are a "D" mint. image.webpimage.webpimage.webp

still a great find, mint or not

Looks like you've got a pattern. Snowstorm, silver! Keep at it! While you can still find the ground. ;)

WTG!

I know how ya feel, im up to 35 1916 mercs not one D...

Great job! You just keep finding those 1916s and eventually you'll come across one with the D mint mark!

Ok, we're 1 county away, your posts are starting to make me jealous! You're killing it in the snow, congrats! !

WTG Will. I shoveled snow....you detected in it, lol. Looks like you have a good spot that saw some activity with all those silvers.

Very nice find. I found a 1916 last year, and looked and looked for that D, but alas, it was not there, no matter how many times I checked. GL&HH.

Congratulations! Any day out in the field is a good one - silver definitely makes it better!

Good job will...glad to finally get on treasure net... And looking forward to finding more silver coins with you soon!!

LOL. I don't get many chances to go when the weather is nice. So i have to take advantage of whatever days i get.

That's Sweet!! Maybe that next one will be in mint condition and will have that D mint mark.
How much snow you detecting in? Do you think the snow or the cold effects your metal detector? I already know how the snow and cold effects me, it was a cold one yesterday with that wind blowing.lol

Gold Luck on that 1916-D mint!!

we have about 8" of powdery snow. It's easy to get the coil down under it. I go detecting every winter and don't find that it effects my machine in anyway. I have to take advantage of any day I can get. Spring to fall is my busy season, and I don't get much time off. So I just dress warm and head for the woods where the ground is soft.

Welcome to the forum Don. If we get any more NePa members, we will rival those Carolina boys!
