I’ve seen solid date boxes before, but not NIFC’s. If I had a solid NIFC I’d keep it as is. Pretty cool.

If it were I, I would mark and dump, mark and dump.

This is two opposite opinions. lol

Life happens.

Check for errors.

Time for more coffee.

I know I’ve been able to sell rolls online for a premium.

About the only explanation for a solid box of 2017 halves is that the mint is releasing all unsold NIFC into circulation. I know there are MS69-70 hunters out there that will buy proof sets and other NIFC hoping to get few MS69+ and simply dump the rest. However, someone doing that in such a volume that 1000 2017 halves end up getting sorted and repackaged all in the same box is pretty astronomical.

I got 1 box a week from this branch for 4 weeks that were solid 2017. I asked them not to order any more for awhile. These were Loomis rolls from Chase.
Now I am getting Brinks boxes from Wells Fargo bank that are not solid 2017 but have a few hundred 2017 in each box. Some rolls have had as many as 9 2017 in them.
Atleast I am finding a few silver in some of these boxes also.

Yep, two boxes from Chase a couple of weeks ago. All 2017 and they were Loomis wrapped. But my chase also gets the double row boxes. I ordered a box two days ago and told them I didn't want the flat box I want the taller box. They said they have no control.

Any way I am driving 20 miles north, to Oregon, next week to do some shopping and going to pay my mortgage all in 2017 halves. All still in the original wrappers. That is the closest Umpqua bank, they also have a coin counter (none in my county in No CA.)

Looking at the mintage, 1.8 million for each of the P & D versions, you would think that their value would be the same as other coins with close to the same mintage. There just must not be enough collectors wanting them. It's a shame.
