Another Trip To The Cavalry Camp

Went back to the cavalry camp today and made a decent amount of finds, including an unusual button. It’s two piece with a red glass center and what appears to be abalone shell surrounding it. I guess it’s a civilian button somebody wore when they went to war. Thoughts?
