I'm thinking it may be a miniature urn now because there seems to be ash of some kind inside

I'm not sure what it is either. It looked to maybe have had a stopper in it at one time but I have no clue. It's very heavy and not plastic or porcelain.

Dude I know this sounds morbid as all get out but with the children on the sides could it be a child's urn?

Either a bud vase or an urn, I am guessing if it is an urn it would be for a pet or a child. I hope it is a bud vase though, a child's urn is a little spooky. Urns seem more jar shaped, and your piece is shaped like a vase.

Here is what an antique urn would look like. I attempted to look for one like your item, so not all look like that. As you can see they are very jar-like.

The one on the bottom is a Victorian one for a child.

I am leaning towards a bud vase though, I am guessing it is heavy to prevent being knocked over. It has a very Victorian feel to it, probably 1880's or 1880's. It may be more recent, trying to following Victorian style.

Here's a bud vase from the 1800's. It looks very similar.

A size would help, because if it was an urn, as you were speculating, it would be quite large. Probably quite a bit larger than a bud vase.

I'm not sure. The object dang near looks like it has ashes in it. Looks a lot like my dad's urn in shape and the ash at the bottom looks a lot like dads
