Looks like the corpse of a check-row corn planter.

It looks pretty mangled, but the single digging tine would suggest that it's a planter

Me to, I think flinthunter is right. If it's a planter where would the seeds go?

It looks like there are pieces missing to me, with the seed cans among the missing.

Not a plow. Plows have heavy blades . . . and no wheels. I like the planter estimate - the sheet metal hopper having disappeared long ago.
