Has anybody have an idea of the age of this ladle?

I have no history on it. My mom found many years ago and gave it to me. She is 84.

I have googled "antique wrought iron ladle" and nothing similar to this has even been displayed.

This is one of the more ornate antique wrought iron ladles I have ever seen. Since she gave me this a while back I have looked at the antique shows and shops and not seen any but the plain jane type.

There are no markings of any sort on it.

It is 11 1/4 inches from handle tip to bowl edge. Bowl diameter is 3 inches at spout.

I think its cast. The handle top is ornate with a ridge along the top scroll while the bottom is flat.

I do not have any info, but it is a nice looking piece.

No idea, but I like it. Maybe it hung on a wall. I don’t know. Sorry.

I think it's a small lead ladle. Congrats and best wishes!

Great relic, should display very well! :icon_thumleft:

Your original question was, "Has anybody have an idea of the age of this ladle?"
Years ago, I owned hand carved maple sugar molds in wood that had designs similar to those on your ladle.

Stylistically, I would think your ladle dates from c1830 - c1860... but then again, I'm no expert. :laughing7:

Great Id and relic treasure it

It's pretty easy to think kitchenware because of the ornate handle, but that's for cooling. Or to put a really nice scar in your palm if you forgot your gloves. LOL

That's pretty darn cool! Congrats! :icon_thumleft:

Nicely done, and all the best,

Lanny
