any advice on using minelab Sovereign XS pro2

I just bought one . I have had several. Use to be tons of info . Now not so much. They are stable lots of info in the tone work it slow. It's heavy. Nice to have a meter but you can live with out it. The old guys loved the coinsearch coil but they are not waterproof. there use to be a Sovereign tip sheet out there that was great but I can't find it . If you find it please post the link. There is something called the sovereign wiggle where you can pinpoint out to the tip of the coil it works good.
It appears that everyone that use to use them went to Equinox 800.

Welcome to T Net..They are a very good machine overall.. I used mine for 15 + Years & still use it....May not find alot of Info. on Tnet ..I thinksome of the older postings were lost..There are several good books out specifically for these machines ..Clive has a couple out Good Luck.

the xs2 pro was my all time favorite for finding gold rings.

fact is non of my other Detectors has done even close .

No real Directions Needed other then The Sovereign Hates Air.
and fresh targets.
my first air test on a quarter 1"
Freshly Buried quarter a scary 3" tops :tongue3:
a Big disappointment.

I think swing speed and air combined was my issue.
I was used to a whites G.E.B. which could grab a Signal at a Fast Swing.

Once I learned to
scrub the ground slowly, and if the sovereign says it's there, it's there.
then sort of circle and wiggle the coil on the ground till I'd get a loud point.
some will be very deep though. sometimes at give-up depths .

you will most likely learn the sovereign wiggle automatically on a deep signal.
when a signal makes you think where exactly is it. and cross reference your scrub
