Went into the local Chase bank and asked for halves, got one loose, and two IKE dollars.. Then asked for a box of pennies.. Solid Date rolls of 2010-D...

Then, at another Chase, I ordered $1000 in halves.. Again, nothing but solid date rolls of 2001-D..

Haven't tried nickels, dimes, or quarters yet, but I assume the same thing would happen at these banks.

Is there something I'm doing wrong or anything I should do different? Should I try Bank of America? or is a Credit Union better? Has anyone had this kind of thing happen. What did you do?

Thanks for your reply

Probrably just your luck, try a different bank maybe?

Luck of the draw. Usually when I go into a new bank and ask for a box, they tell me, "we don't have any new coin, just circulated", thinking that I want new coin only.

Nope have not had that problem. It must be what they got in. Try again or go to another bank. Good luck.....Matt

On two separate occasions I've had a teller bring a box of brand new cents. I've just politely said "oh, you wouldn't happen to have boxes with circulated coins do you?" Both times they've been nice and obliged. Neither even asked why.

I always look at the coins before I leave the bank. If they are new, I ask for a different box. The are always happy to exchange the coins.

Actually a different bank may have a different service tho that may not mean much.

you can sell the boxes of 2010 pennies for a decent profit if they are still rolled. That's what I did when I got 2 boxes of them
