Looking for some help here, I have done alot of research but cannot Id this soldier I dug from a 1917 army base, the base says made in england copywright of properties britain england. the base is pea green, belt looks red, its not lead, its metal, anyways please let me know what you think, I had no clue they made so may figurines back in the day.

Hey Vanoldschool,

I checked my handy "Collecting Toy Soldiers #2" by Richard O'Brien, and your sailor appears to be from a set of either 16 or 20 sailors and listed as a factory set simply named, "U.S. Sailors." The same mold was also painted differently and used in an eight-piece set named, "U.S. Sailors, bluejackets." All sets were issued between WW1 and WW2. Diggin' those old toy soldiers!
