that's crazy looking. was it originally made that way, or was later modified? I would guess late 1930's

It appears to have been made this way by the protruding casting holes in the head. I've seen many spelter Soldier lamps, but none in this style. I would date this 1920's-1930's. That dude looks tough compared to some of the sissy looking Roman soldiers depicted on others. It is spelter not bronze, correct? No markings anywhere I would guess?
