Is the top part glass? Really need more side, & bottom pics. Maybe a ruler in the pic's will help to.

Ok, trying to get the hang of this app....

It's off a 1700s to present manor site in Virginia. Patent pending embossed in the glass with a number. Glass contains bubbles.

give the patent number there are guys that can track it down by that. Or just show a close up of the number there might be some other clues there. Definitely an interesting item.

Looks similar to turn of the century insulator used in Knob and Tube wiring.

Thanks everyone. This item is an Otis "wiggle top" first patented in the 1850s. Recovered at 2 to 4" deep.
