Found this piece where I've been detecting the last couple of days. Seems to be made of brass, you can tell by the nick where the digger scraped it. Looks like there is a thin piece of metal missing from the middle, Any help will be appreciated. RJ

The "form" of wind-instrument reeds varies slightly, according to the version of musical instrument they were used in. There's been a lot of debate here in the What Is It forum about what shape goes with what instrument. Here's a photo showing several variations, reported to be for a Harmonium or Melodeon. Also a photo showing some reeds in a dismantled Concertina. Similar reeds are also used in accordions and organs.

I had no idea what it was just thought it was weird looking. this property is producing all kinds of different relics. Still no coins! you You would think of all the horse shoes I've pulled from there I would be getting some luck.
