Not sure but its cool looking. What size is it? Almost looks like a stove damper. Also, what type of metal?

It looks like it could be the top to a lamp! or even the bottom, depending.... I'll see if I can find a pic of what I mean....

I can't find a pic that matches.

Looks fixed rather than adjustable. I'm thinking it's ornamental instead of functional.

A round cast iron air vent for a wood stove...

Worked like pictured. Rotate it to open for more air. The backing plate matches the pic of the back side

my last house was pretty new...1929...I totally recognise that item and I believe as already stated its an airflow adjuster on a cookstove....not a heat stove but a cook stove.My last one had oven and water heater.the real deal.after seeing the back I'm convinced
