Any ideas wut I have?

I found this rock a few years ago. I'm thinkin it may be an artifact b/c of the shape. I think it kinda looks like a base. However, I do not see any signs that man has altered it. Also, I really don't know what the material is. I'm leaning toward basalt b/c some artifacts can be made from that material, but there is no polished finished. Maybe this rock is highly weathered, since I did find it in a creek. I'm thinkin on a hardness scale it would be 7 or close to quartz. Does any one have any ideas wut I have here?

It looks to be basalt, if you think it's an artifact post it in the Artifact Forums.

I'd be tempted to agree with TRC, basalt is quite likely.
