My thought on this is several pieces have been made from this rock. I think as they knapped the other pieces they were forming a spear? maybe? I am hoping this really is an artifact and not another bad pick on my part.

It's really hard to say from just those pictures. I don't really see any for sure evidence that it was shaped by man and not just natural fracturing. It does have the look of a large Stemmed Tool, but I honestly think it's a natural stone.

what kind of stone is it?

I haven't a clue what kind of stone it is. Anyone know?

Well Im not sure on it. I know we have a flint here that will break in the creek on its own but when wet look like its been worked and when its dry wont show the work. I have 2 artifacts made from it but there is no doubt on them. This type of flint here is a green and brown color.

It is gray on the other side though.

I need to reshoot it and get it in focus.

and the color is a rusty brown and greys, also its not wet

As oddly and provocatively this one is shaped I would have to say natural from what I see like was said earlier I don't see any for sure flaking on it the material doesn't look like it would work very well either it looks like you have another big chunk of it in the bottom of this photo what is that? Are you finding big pieces of this stuff often and this one just happens to be shaped strangely?

I agree with Gator. While it does have the basic shape of a large Blade or Tool, your latest pictures show it has no discernible flaking or work by man.

Yes the new pics helped it looks natural

Natural rock...
