The insignia on the front is for the US Navy Seabees(construction batallion). Don't know what the piece is, but definitely Seabees.

Just checked...sterling silver, US Navy Seabees, WW II era.

Thank you very much. I was thinking possible Navy as there was also Japanese and Philippine paper money in with it.

I agree with the ID, but with the wear on the long part on the bottom, could it have had a use ? Watch key etc? Tony

I think it's supposed to represent a watch key, possibly for retirement from the Seabees ?
