Found at 1870's home site, inside of big hole is threaded, small hole is half square half round. Appears to be nickel plated. 20201109_192639.webp20201109_192703.webp

Is it made of silver?
Some kind of cap?

Window latch perhaps... also there were versions of "cord cleats" that only had one hole... similar to this...

Looks similar but I think it's too small for these uses. Also the outside is knurled as if it was meant to be turned. Looks more precision made like a pocket watch part. Thanks for your thoughts.

I think you're on to something like a dead bolt for a real old lock instead of a key to activate it. Marking it solved.

It does look like it but it would have to be really small.

Most likely what you have is the remains of an antique medical, veterinary or embalming syringe. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1605201231.404381.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1605201273.154551.webpImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1605201282.989163.webp
