Hi all..Newbie here..clueless newbie..be gentle , lol. Ok, I joined in after frustrating searches trying to find info on bottles. My hubby moves dirt for a living (soil relocation engineer he self titles) Backhoes, etc. runs alot of hvy equip. Well for years hes been bringing home dug up bottles..old bullets, weird old stuff he digs up. Ive got a collection of bottles here I know nothing about. Im very curious on one in particular..bottle simply reads..''pepsi:cola bottling co.'' near base reads ''charlotte ,N.C. not for sale'' bottom of bottle 6 1/2 flu. oz. Whats so weird..appears to be double glass! Like a bottle inside a bottle! Has a strange image of pepsi, etc underneath..bit off..I cant find another. Why would it say ''not for sale"?? no chips, cracks, damage..super heavy glass. dirt..but ive not cleaned. I look forward to sharing/learning from yall...Also value..if anyone knows..before I Do something dumb like sell for a dollar locally..lol...TYSM!

The "not for sale " has something to do with other company's re-using your bottles, I think. If you go to the bottles and glass forum and post there, you will be more likely to get more info. Bottles & Glass. Looks like you have a good one there. Good luck.

There are folks who know a lot about old bottles on one of the groups I belong to. You could ask there but be aware they do not like "what's it worth" type questions. If you simply ask how old it might be and what other info they might be willing to share they will help you. My main focus is vintage Coca Cola bottles and if that was one of them I would say it never contained Pepsi. More likely some other flavor or even soda water. With the Coke bottles if the name is in the tradtional script style we are all familiar with it contained Coca Cola. If it says Coca Cola Bottling Company in block letters it contained something else. Go here and see what they can tell you. https://www.facebook.com/groups/215238599037614/

That is a nice old Pepsi bottle. I'm not an authority on value though. If it were mine, it would go in one of my bottle display cases.

Welcome Sweet Pea, cool find! It's a plain jane compared to the coke bottles of the time.
