2018 is almost done only a couple weekends left to get 2018 finds in the book, anyone around Michigan hardcore enough to go out this weekend? Ill be out their some were looking for the shinny anyone care to join? or care to have me join!! lol

Dont think it's even possible without a pickaxe.

I was out last weekend, checked out a new spot with tons of potential. and did some beepin around.....found some military stuff from the 50's, checked into a lumber camp and ghost town close by, eager to go back, but not till spring.

I didn't mind the cold, but the ground was frozen, and we just got 4 inches of snow.

Should mention I saw a first yesterday! It was 27 degrees here yesterday and I saw some guys trying to lay sod outside a newly remodeled Kroger store. Pretty sure the roots aren't going to take with frozen ground, but felt bad for the guys. They were trying to warm up in their vehicles...

I hunt most weekends year round here in Michigan. I hunt any open water here on the west side. This was last weekend.

Hi Sturrat!! do you use neoprene waders? place im going to this weekend is a old swimming hole on what used to be a Indianian reservation and is state land now, was wondering about keeping my feet and hand warm, what do you recommend?

Yes stocking waders neoprene boots, trappers gauntlets. I stay nice and warm down to below zero.

I tried on the 19th, it was sunny, 38 degrees and rising, the ground was soft enough, but the snow was crusty and frustrating, I got by. Found a few ferrous targets that left me hopeful for the site.

Tried again at another place on the 20th. It was snowing, raining, 31 and dropping. Miserable and no fun at all.

Now there's 6 inches of snow, with a warming trend in the forecast. But I'm done till spring. A lot more fun when it's at least warmish out there.
