Greetings,
I wondered what you guys thought about these two. They were found in a local farm field with permission. I can't say 100% they aren't natural/incidental but they seem like pretty good candidates to me.

I was thinking the gray one may be a scraper and the brown one may be a flake blade.

To me, the gray one seems to have a bulb on the side that is not worked, a rough sharp edge along the long side and a more fine sharp edge on the end. It is as if it could be a tool used for rough and fine scraping. Also it appears some material was flaked off the top of the worked edge to make an indentation for better grip.

The brown one seems to have a very obvious bulb as well and a very nice sharp edge. On the face shown in the 2nd pic of the pair there is an interesting difference in texture all along the sharp edge.

Thank you GaRebel. I appreciate you taking the time to look and give your thoughts.

Sometimes I wonder if I were alive in the stone age if it would take me less time to find a suitable rock than it would to make one in to what I needed. :laughing7:

the tan one just seems to be a reduction flake at best

Thanks unclemac.

I will admit, I held off on posting these ones for some time. I was hoping to find a sure thing to share. Sometimes though my curiosity gets the better of me (that's why people started calling me the cat). :)

I was thinking natural, but after taking a closer look at the tan one I think unclemac is spot on.

Thank you joshuaream. I really appreciate you taking the time to look and share your thoughts.

Happy hunting,
Eric

Thumb scraper and/or burin of sorts , used few times , if you have a jewlers loupe or better, look at the edge for the wear marks,

Im knew to this so I think every weird rock is a artifact. I haven't found an arrow head yet. Tell me what you think of this.IMG_20190519_071457.webp
