Update: ~ To All, I hate to have to do this, but a financial situation in my life has put me in a position to have to sell this piece. I did have this appraised and I am asking $1800 in a effort to turn this around quickly. I am willing to send this internationally providing the funds have cleared the bank, and I will pay for the shipping and insurance, in addition I will provide a certified bill of sale and COA transfer to the buyer and a written certified providence of its known history.
Below are the specifics again on the piece:
Description : Ceremonial 4 Way Blade
Material : Banded Quartz (N.E. Oregon U.S.A.)
Time Period: 500 - 1500 years old
Graded : G-9
Location/Date Found: Deschutes River Oregon, U.S.A. (John Day Dam area, mid 1970's)
Price : $1800.00 U.S.A or reasonable offer.
C.O.A : Ben Stermer (Original to be provided to Buyer)

If offer is less than asking price, I will leave it for sale until 6/10. I will notify any buying offers if their asking price is less than the current offer. I reserve the right to not sell the piece if the highest offer is not sufficient. Otherwise the first $1800 offered will be the new owner. Sorry no considerations for time zones.

I was given this blade upon my mothers passing, as far as I know, there has never been any investigation surrounding the creation period, type, or associated native culture. What I do know about this, is that it was found near or around the John Day Rapids in Oregon along the Deschutes River by my uncle Ronald Jones in the early 70's, I know he was a avid collector of both early american and native american artifacts, and this was forefront in his displayed collection until my mother talked him out of it in the early 80's. I already have this boxed up, and am sending it to Ben Stermer for authentication as I write this, but I would like to get any thoughts that any of you have on this piece.

You'll get info/thoughts/opinions soon, I'm sure. I just wanted to say WELCOME to T-Net, and the N.A. artifact forum! That's one beautiful piece- the material is amazing. Thank you for showing it. After pouring over the net for information, I think it may be a 'Rabbit Island Dart'- a Columbia River style from the Transitional to Classic Phase, and between 700-2000 years old (quite a broad dating). I found this info on westernartifacts.com , and honestly, had a heck of a time pulling up info on anything that looks like that. I'm not from the area - far from it, but tried very hard to find something similar, and this was the best I could do. I look forward to reading others' thoughts on this one. Yakker

I sent this to Ben Stermer who authenticated this piece approx 1500 years old, a Ceremonial 4 way blade of Banded Quartz Graded a G9. Pretty happy about that.
