Taxco, Mexico silver pin perhaps? It seems to have writing on the reverse, what does it say?

There are a lot of scratches on the back, but no writing that I can see using 5x loupe.

Yup .. Just scratches .. I just used my 10x loupe to examine it carefully, and it is just scratches. .. no writing on it at all.

Hmm.. good question .. After looking at it pretty closely again, I think it is silver with a gold wash, and the pin is copper.

Probably the wings. That was my first thought too. Does look handmade and southwestern (possibly Native American) or Mexican in design. JMHO

I agree aztec or Mexican that spyrile on the wing stands out.
