anybody know about this old shotgun receiver marked COLUMBIA ?

found this old break open shot gun receiver, it's marked COLUMBIA on the left side of the receiver,and also has some very worn dates on the right, looks like either 1891 or 1896 ? hard to read because of the wear, and also AUG for August

is this from the 1890's era? I think it's 12 gauge or possibly 10 ga?

found it this morning for a dollar $1.00
