Anybody know someone who can repair an Excal II in California?

I had this problem and it was caused by a leak in the coil resion. It can also be caused by not cleaning out the coil cover of any black sand. This is the simplest thing to fix yourself.

Good Luck,
Sandman

Sandman is correct. Coil or coil wire....fix, replace, or find the leak and seal off. Check cables, then coil for cracks. They must dry out before repairing...and it maybe to late, saltwater attacks the copper rendering beyond repair.

I'm afraid you're right. It can't be black sand in the coil cover because I have not used the cover in over a year. I could be imagining it, but I think all the sand that builds up between the cover and the coil affects the performance...that's probably why I have a leak. Thank you both for the advice.

I work on excaliburs, if minelabs gives you to high of a price, drop me a line.
