My wife always is happy to receive my gemstone treasures that I 'think' I got a good deal at Ebay. I have 'studied' the gemstone industry on the internet from the ground to the pendant. This particular pink ruby is approximately ten cwt, Moh scale of 9, and from Africa. Pink rubies are actually common. I wanted to trade this stone for another from a TN member but the deal fell through. So because I am a giver (and I have plenty of gemstones) I would like to give this gemstone to someone who shares the 'happiness's' of collecting.
Just PM your mailing address to me and when I get it returned to me I will send you your real gemstone. I won it bidding and honestly don't remember paying more than $26 for it.
So if any Tner lady wants a free pink ruby......let me know. Once you have it made into a ring or pendant it would be a nice gesture to post a photo.
My TN friend tmdavis3 should have received her real ruby gemstone in the mail by now. I was waiting to hear from her via TN Personal Message, but I have been blocked.
If tmdavis3 has in fact got the package in the mail, I hope it arrived safely and you enjoy the pink ruby.
If and when I get access to my PM etc. I hope to hear from you.
Hello! YES!! It's here. I checked my mail Saturday when we got in from work, and there it was. It is so pretty! My oldest daughter fell in love with it right away, but I told her she'd have to wait a few years (hopefully) and inherit it.
I apologize for not letting you know more promptly. I have worked very long hours too many days straight, so had to catch up housework and the like this morning. Then, my family wanted to go fishing, so off we went. Busy, busy, busy. Spring is usually like that, though.
It will probably be a month or so before I can have the ruby set. Too much work lined up.... Too little time left for hobbies.
Thank you once again for the beautiful stone!!! I will try to get a pic on here one night this week.
I tried to PM you, too, and could not get through.... I don't know what is up. I get an error that says it can't find you.
Ashleen, I dunno. I reckon I just got lucky, huh? It is a beautiful stone, and was very, very sweet of Atticus to offer to give it away to a virtual friend, and a newbie, at that!
And, to think, I had a miserable Saturday working till 10 pm (was like that all week), then came home to something so NICE. It really made my whole week! I hope to have time about midweek to post a photo....
The Ruby market is complex. Quality near perfect man made gemstones, stones enhanced by color fusion not dissimilar to the oiling of emeralds etc are in huge demand and demand high prices. Here is a nice link that gives some basics. I'll post another informative soon, (like in a few minutes lol)
