Detector(s) used
Whites TM 808, Whites GMT, Tesoro Lobo Super Traq, Fisher Gold Bug 2, Suction Dredges, Trommels, Gold Vacs, High Bankers, Fluid bed Gold Traps, Rock Crushers, Sluices, Dry Washers, Miller Tables, Rp4
Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
I recently got a two box detector and since it detects deep, maybe I need more than just a shovel.
Has anyone tried one of these? Harbor Freight sells it for $2995.00
Says it will dig to 7 feet deep.

hope you own alot of land, because i think you may have problems getting permission to hunt if you show up with that thing. i get strange looks when i carry a shovel

I'll do the swinging of the 2 box, if you do the diggin....can't afford one them fancy shovels.

Neat deal for sure but.... Depending on where you live and where you think you'll be digging you could also rent something probably more effective from various places that rent bobcats, etc. I have a landscaping biz and am always fighting my partner over him wanting to buy vs. me wanting to rent. Think maintenance, storage, etc. May not be a big deal for you though. Just a thought.

Add to maintenance and storage - the cost of hauling. (had to have our own truck that would handle the Cat.) :D

most of thier stuff comes from China, but what doesn't these days

It would do light work if you didn't have a trailer to carry a skid steer etc

price isn't bad either, whats the warranty

Bridge End -

Great ID - its hard to tell the difference between a 580 and a 530!

A friend of mine bought one of those "crated" deals from China - it is surprising (once you get the thing put together), and does a lot of work. (Gosh I cannot think of the name of it - Jinma?).

a buddy of mine actualy got one of these an as long as you dont want to try an break an speed or diggin records its a decent lil machine ..............he uses his for in the creeks pulls it behind his quad an as long as he goes slow an easy with it he pulls dirt outa the creeks all day long to run threw the sluice.

just my 2 cents

I can use one a little smaller that Mrs. O's machine anytime I want to.
Was helping/learning it a couple weeks ago hauling bucket scoops to a fill site
singing " Don't you think my tractors sexy!" .
Truck and trailer with it.
Have no idea how to put a MD on it though. LOL

I don't think they allow those in tot-lots but have never tried.

Maybe if you had a modified bucket with screen on the beach it would help.

I think the HF ones may be an alternative to a ditch witch as far as running water/sewer lines.
If you have the time/money to learn/use it could pay for itself.

Sorry, I have never seen it done. Just used the big ones.
Get the extended warrentee.
