This little thing is solid platinum and its not very pretty which especially amazes me why they made it out of platinum. I can't figure out what it is anyone?!

That was my first thought but it doesn't look like it unscrews. ?

I think Sub is correct; it looks like a vintage knife rest to me too. The ones below are similar.

If it's a knife rest, it's a pretty ugly one! I have my doubts as it looks too round for that purpose. It looks like it would roll of the table easily.

what convinces you it's platinum ?

& If it is, I'd ask a surgeon if it could be a replacement body part,
because it doesn't appear to be something that is meant to be seen.

With that being said, I'm still thinking knife rest. That much platinum is worth a few $$$. How much does it weigh?

It looks a bit crude to be jewelry. It's look awfully pitted. Will platinum corrode like that?? The platinum jewelry finds I've had came out of the ground/sand/ocean clean as a whistle. Makes me wonder if it's REALLY platinum.
