Anyone know about pipe clay pipe restoration.

I figure of all my clay pipe finds this one is worthy of restoration. Question.. How to restore a late 19th pipe, with stem?

I should of phrased this title better. What I am trying to do is figure out what type of stem would of been used on this type of pipe. When I display it in my shadow box, I hoped to have a recreation of what the stem may have looked like. Im guessing a "Sherlock Holmes" style. Also I apologize, I learned today the kids got a hold of my account list and have been posting random stuff on all my accounts.
