Anyone know these symbols

What country? If I remember right I think the one side has a date

[Mackaydon]

What size is it? What, if anything, is on the reverse? Where is the date shown? What is the back story?
I seem to see a turtle and an elephant.
Don.......

I will measure it in a bit the writing on the side was similar to a coin the someone translated to a date for me at one time

[jtw1313]

It's about 7 by 5 inches

[ARC]

No Jt... no knowledge on these symbols ... sorry could not help
BUT...
IMO... which is what you asked me for...
It is not old.
It is an ashtray.
It is brass.
It is rectangular.
It is probably from the gift shop in the TIKI TORCH Motel. :P

Thanks arrc..... I will post when I find out

[bradyboy]

is this one pc construction?
The bottom looks like tin
agree with the ashtray thing
IMO the symbols look Greek, Chinese, Egyptian and maybe Indian
Likely a modern souvenir - imo
