It is a Thai 1 baht from 1957. It is made from a mixture of copper, nickel, silver, and zinc (possibly the weirdest combination ever!)

Thanks! How much silver? Do you know what it is worth in this condition?

Oh, man it's worthless. Thanks for the help!

I got it at a garage sale. $6 for a Franklin half, a coin from the USSR, a south african silver coin and this one.

It was a South African 2 1/2 cent silver coin.

What was the year and denomination of the USSR coin?

No coin is truly 'worthless'. Even if they can't be used anymore, they still are works of art, peculiar statements in their own right and fractional pieces of history. Often they are an abandoned lot but always seem to exact curiosity and an eventual conversation, which is priceless. :) Keep it.

History can have many faces. Good find! You are the owner of a piece of history.

I'm too lazy to take it out of the safe.. lol. I believe it was an early 1960s 5 kopek.

Many of those have $20+ values even in F condition, so it may be worth taking out of the safe. If your South African coin is from 1962 or 1964, they are worth $2 in VF condition. 1962- 8,745 minted, 1964- 14K minted

I didn't know the Russian coin was worth that much. The day I got the African coin I traded it for two mercury dimes. lol
