Wow ... what a great find !
A lot of people in this hobby spent many years trying to find one - a lot more never find one !

It's what the others have said, its a U.S. 3 Cent piece or "Trime". Congrats on a tough coin to find.

It's about trime you found one.

The elusive trime. Well, elusive to me because I've never found one. Plenty of half dimes but never a trime. That's a hard one to get. Congratulations.

And it looks like it was found with a Bounty Hunter.......sheesh, there really is no justice in this world! :laughing7:

Hey CT Todd maybe you can help ID that coin? :laughing9:

I've been at this for 30+ years, still looking for #1- Congrats!!

metal detecting is fun and finding cool old coins is one of the things that makes it a fun hobby. I got interesting in detecting primarily because of my love of history and a love of coin collecting. Read up and learn the history behind the coins and other items you might find. It helps keep your interest peaked and a little extra knowledge never hurt anyone. Here's a page of the history of your coin.... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three-cent_silver
