I found this today it says monroe la 1906 on it along the top with 09, I think, on the bottom. Any help would be appreciated thanks and hh!!

Well nobody knows what it's made out of and only gum chewers know how big it is.

Sorry gum was all I had at the time I don't know what type of metal it is,brass I guess, but I don't know. Here's it compared to a dollar hopefully there are some dollar owners lol ��

It's not a womens hair clip. It's clearly bent in half, and the bicycle tag sounds as good as any, but we may get a clearer idea if you can flatten it out? And clean it up.

I don't want to do that because, I think it's suppose to be like that,and I'm scared if I did that it'll break. I have figured out the bottom number is 109 though!!

It will likely break if you try and bend it, old brass gets extremely brittle.

Looks like the the 50s bike license are similar but aluminum.
The oldests ones look like copper, just havent found a good pic of how they attached.
I did find a very interesting site, many good photos
