Found a ring last nite nothing fancy, inside it's stamped g/5 or 6, anybody know what that means? I am assuming it's a grade or some indication of it's composition.

i could be wrong but i think that is the size.

Could it be that the G means grams,therefore 5 or 6 grams.Could be that the Karat was removed when resizing,especially on some of the older rings
