Today is probably the most sacred of all days for Australia, ANZAC day.
It commemorates Australia's war dead and falls on the day that the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps launched their landing on the shores of Anzac cove, Gallipoli. Lest We Forget.
As it is a public holiday, all schools are closed. I thought that it would be a golden chance to detect some local ones.
The first school I got to turned out to have numerous sets of equipment, so we stayed the 2 hours until dark there.
In the end we ended up with 2 cars, $6.05 and a 9k gold signet ring with a very small stone. So wasn't a bad day at all!
I also found the first place that was too full of rubbish to use the explorer and stock coil (only one I have). It was in a kiddies sand pit!!!!! Scary ay!
Also a first, I found WAY more 5c coins than anything else. Normally the $2 coins are more common as they are the same size(ish) but are alot heavier(and as such easier to lose).
Also I'll say THANK YOU to all vets reading this. I try to say thanks to all ex-service personell as often as possible.
THANK YOU!
Have fun people and NEVER EVER EVER forget!

. My wife and good friend are vets. It is important to remember those who gave all fro the freedom we enjoy. Ran in to one of your countrymen on a fishing trip to the Smokey mountains in Tennessee . He was on an adventure ( walkabout ? ) before getting married . 100% gentleman. I used to work at the Australia exhibit at our local zoo. We had roos wallabies and small crocs from the reptile house. Couldn't play the digerydo (spelling? ) to save my life. Any advise
The circular breathingthing escaped me
