Any machine that finds nickels easily will also locate gold jewelry very well.

Seems like there's a lot of junk metal around the nickel indicator but if it doesn't vary from the nickel, then it's there. I found three silver nickels and a buffalo in a small church yard.

I have had the same experience, finding lots of nickels with my Apex.
