Not really sure what this is. Thought maybe an apothecary drawer or something from a ship...really just guessing.

Looks like an iron age ice cube tray.....or some sort of a crucible.

It may be an old antique spice box.

I'm assuming that piece on top swivels or just lays over, to cover the 4 compartments?
Would keep spices from blowing away.

Search "antique South Indian wooden spice boxes" or "Old teak spice boxes"
See if the image search will show you something very similar.
