I found this in West Virginia metal detecting. It appears to be made of pewter. It is in the shape of a badge. It is 2”” wide by 4” long and slightly concaved on the back. It appears to have 13 stars on the top, 8 stripes vertically separated by a ribbon.

I don’t know what it is but it’s cool. Nice find.
 

My goodness ..that is really cool! I don't know what it is but it looks like it belongs in a museum! The last time the US had 13 stars was 1777
 

looks like colonial revolutionary folk-art. I'd be researching the heck out of the place you found it and possible people it could be connected to. Keep us updated please. Great find!
