April 28th at a park and junior high school

I went to the park this morning till it was too warm for the spring jacket I had on and found most of the stuff except for the merc , four holed wheat, a couple penny's and a dime. The dime was just a whisper but I kept getting a good 78-80 VDI, it was probably 8 or 9 inches down. There was crusted on dirt and I couldn't see a date so it was a mystery merc till I hot home and rinsed the dirt off and the first thing I look at was the date and I seen the 1916 and thought it can't be, flipped it over and seen the S but it's still a definite keeper.

nice finds Giant!! that merc is in great condition, what a heartbreaker with no D but still a keeper for sure, great stuff you think someone was trying to make that wheat into a button? and how do you get your pic to flip like that? very cool.

1916 S merc, that one looks crisp, gotta be worth a few bucks, unlike the 1916 I dug last week. Sure is a thrill though looking for that mintmark! Congrats! ffd
