Setting here working on a box of dimes. Up pops a gold-colored coin. Tried to take a pic with my camera--a no go. Too much of a blur. Will try to see if I can get one at work this week.

I cannot decipher the language or figure out a date. Appears Asian or Eastern European--I am thinking the latter rather than the former. The obverse has a male with glasses in a military uniform with medals. The reverse has what appears to be a castle with a coat-of-arms in the center of the castle. The castle has three towers. I know it is not gold, but it has a yellow-almost greenish hue. Tried to look the coin up on line, but to no avail.

Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like a Thai coin to me. I have seen some of them with the obverse like you describe and a golden color. If you post what year the coin is I can look it up for you.

Thanks Jim. The best I can tell is 2006? Even the date is foreign to me. That is just a wild guess. Since you have given me a starting place, I will take a look on line.

Thanks Jim! Yes it was a Thai coin. A 10 Santay (1957) bronze. Went into the foreign coins "cigar box." :laughing7: My first coin from Thailand.

Thanks again!
