I was given this coin as a gift when I was born. The writing looks arabic. Can anyone it identify it, how old and where it's from etc?

Welcome to Treasure Net !!
The image within the inner circle on your 'coin' to the left is a 'tughra'--though a poor rendition. The date of your right side 'coin' is found on the right side of the inner circle; appearing as an Arabic 1213 which equates to a Gregorian (our) 1803. If it's a coin, I suggest you research Ottoman, Turkey;reign of Selim III 1789-1807; and Mahmud III 1807-1839. Have you tested it for gold?
Don.....
PS: I posted two reigns since I can't quit make out the exact date.

your saying its Gold?
Has it been tested?

Folks,
I've got some coins with similar inscriptions in a generic lot many years ago...the coins were paper thin and very light so I figure modern repros.
Suggest you have it tested to see if it's real or not.
